  • Description

    International Coastal Clean Up happens every year on the third Saturday of September. This island wide clean up has been taking place for well over a decade. During the clean up we not only clean up the coasts, but also collect data on the quantity and type of trash that is being collected. So come lend a hand and lets work together to keep Guam clean!

    Objective

    1. Clean up Guam's coasts and illegal dumping grounds

    2. Quantify and analyze collected data on poundage, quantity, type, etc. of trash collected. 

    Life Science Standard: Recognize and describe the role human beings play in the Earth's ecosystems, and how human activities can affect ecosystems both positively and negatively. 
     

    Instructions

    Come join us on Saturday, September 16, 2017 for the Guam International Coastal Cleanup! Make sure to fill out the waiver found on the website below. Clean up starts at 7 am and goes until noon. Be sure to fill out waiver form beforehand if you can!

    In order to earn service learning hours, students need to turn in a reflection addressing these questions to the teacher who will grant the hours: What did you do? What did you learn? How was this an example of service to the community?
