  • Description

    Tutors are preselected by Manna Fellowship Pastor and Wife

    Tutors assist in set up, supervision and facilitation of tutoring sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-4:30pm

    Basic subject areas are covered math, english, reading and writing. 

    Will asist during snack set up and clean up. 

    A possible of 20 hours of service learning is earned by: 

    1 hour or preparation
    20 hours of action (2 hours a week x 4 weeks)
    1 hour of reflection

    To help students to see the value in all children and help them to learn patience in working with individuals from various ehtnicities. 

    To set up a long term mentoring and tutoring program with students that lasts the whole school year.

    Explain the importance of thoughtful and effective participation in civic life, including the following:


    • Performing public service



    Sign up as a Teen Tutor Facilitator with Manna Fellowship Church

    Attend a minimum of 20 hours of service, excess hours per school year will not be tracked. 

    Provide tutoring service to youth ages 5-12 years of age for 2 hours up to twice a week. 

    Complete Reflection after 20 hours of service and Upload it to your Dashboard to complete project. 

    Reflection should address: How did I demonstrate trustworthiness and honesty? How did I demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and self-reliance? How was this a public service? Why is it important to contribute in this way? 

    Certificates are available upon completion and request. 



    Students must be able to provide Service Schedule of time completed on Reflection (for verification)

    Comments about the Project Location

    Tutor selection is completely decided by Manna Church Fellowship and not within authority of Island Girl Power. Our facility is utilized for the tutoring sessions through a partnership between Manna Fellowship/Maria Ulloa and Island Girl Power. 

    All schedules for Tutuors must be given by Manna Fellowship Church.
