Cadets are required to research the history of the Red Ribbon program. They will learn about the cause and effects of drugs and how to prevent it within their community. They will learn how to create a healthier lifestyle and a safer environment. They will also research on various agencies for referrals and assistance for fellow cadets and friends who need help with drugs abuse.

Cadets will spread awareness of a positive drug free life. Cadets will also learn about the harmful effects of drugs. Cadets will be knowledgeable of how to avoid peer pressure and getting assistance from professionals and governmental agencies.
Cadets may participate with the following activities:
1. Red Ribbon Awareness Posters: Each cadet will design and assist with their peers in creating a Red Ribbon Awareness Poster. Posters must pertain to the theme of "YOLO Be Drug Free" and must be completed and submitted to their Flight Commanders by Oct 11, 2016. Cadets will earn 2 hours for preparing their posters and 1 hour for their reflection paper.
2. Red Ribbon Awareness Wave: Each cadet will register with their flight commanders to participate in the wave before Oct 27, 2016. Cadets will prepare a poster to showcase their efforts during the wave along Route 1 and Route 4 in Hagatna. Cadets are required to arrive at the Chief Kepuha parking lot by 4:00pm and must be picked up by 6:00pm on Oct 28, 2016. Cadets will earn 1 hour for preparing their poster, 2 hours for the wave and 1 hour for the reflection paper.
3. Say "Boo" to Drugs: Cadets will assist with the Red Ribbon Coalition team during the distribution of candies at Agana Shopping Center. Cadets will report to ASC by 4:00pm and be picked up by 6:00pm on October 31, 2016. Instructions for the distribution of candies will be provided by the Red Ribbon committee. Cadets will earn 2 hours for assisting the team and 1 hour for reflection paper.
Throughout the event, our Public Affairs officer will be taking pictures and video of our cadets in action. A photo album and slide presentation will be presented to fellow cadets, guests, and parents at our Air Force Ball and Change of Command Ceremony.
Cadets will be brief on the safety rules during the wave. Proper attire will be assigned for each flight during each event.
