Sunidu Pasifika or Pacific Sounds is a Group ispired to learn and teach the making and playing of Guam's oldest instrument called the Bilembaotuyan. Delores T. Quinata, the last apprentice of Master Bilembaotuyan Jesus Crisostomo has taught and continues to teach the art of making the instrument. Recording artists Ruby Santo and Jesse Bais have dedicated their time to teach the playing of the instrument into their local island music.
If you are interested in learning the making and playing of the Bilembaotuyan, together we can present at the upcoming Festival of the Pacific Arts and Culture (FESTPAC). Please not that once you're able to make your instrument, you will proceed to the next step of playing the instrument. Our goal is to produce 100 Bilembaotuyan Players for FESTPAC.
